Why clamping as close to the chop saw blade as possible and having it clamped on both sides of the blade is critical! If the material isn’t properly clamped the finish cut mostly likely not be want you need.

There are three main reason’s why you need to clamp your material properly:

1. You will have better control over the piece and the chances of it pinching the part diminishes great.
2. The chances of the blade breaking is minimized because  your part is secured in the vise and the chances of the piece moving is minimized.
3. Better quality cut because it’s clamped on both sides and this means the burr will be small.

Keep these three items in mind.  If you properly clamp your material you will have a improved cut.
