Description

Performance Features

The KM20-22 is a heavy-duty metal mitre saw for fabrication shops cutting mild-steel bar, tubing, and fabricated components. Its 20-inch abrasive cutting system combines secure workholding with adjustable controls for straight and angled cuts.

20-Inch Abrasive Cutting System

  • Accepts a 20-inch abrasive cutoff wheel with a 1-inch spindle arbor.
  • Provides the capacity needed for larger mild-steel stock and fabrication work. The abrasive cutoff wheel is sold separately.

Two Motor Options

  • Choose the standard 15 HP motor or an optional 20 HP motor to match the shop's cutting workload.
  • Both configurations use three-phase power and are available for 220V or 440V service.

Left and Right Mitre Cutting

  • The saw head mitres up to 45 degrees in either direction.
  • Operators can prepare angled joints without repeatedly turning long or heavy material.

Mild-Steel Cutting Capacity

  • Cuts solid mild steel up to 4 inches and tubing up to 6 inches at 90 degrees.
  • At 45 degrees, capacity is approximately 2.83 inches for solid stock and 4.24 inches for tubing.

Air-Operated Workholding

  • Dual air-operated chain vises help hold material securely during the cut.
  • An air gauge, regulator, and on/off valve give the operator direct control of the vise system. Shop air is required.

Built for Daily Shop Use

  • A cast-iron saw arm and trunnion provide a rigid base for straight and mitre cutting.
  • All-steel construction, table locks, an adjustable backstop, and an up-and-down stop support repeatable setups.

Applications & Industries

The KM20-22 fits fabrication shops that need to make straight and angled cuts in mild-steel bar, tubing, and fabricated components. It supports custom fabrication, production cutting, welding preparation, and repair work.

Metal Fabrication Shops

  • Cuts bar stock, tubing, and fabricated sections for frames, supports, brackets, and general shop projects.
  • Handles one-off parts and repeated cutting work at a dedicated cutting station.

Welding Operations

  • Prepares mild-steel components for welding, fitting, and fixture assembly.
  • The saw head mitres up to 45 degrees left or right, helping operators prepare corners and angled joints.

Custom Metal Fabrication

  • Supports cutting for custom frames, equipment components, and repair fabrications.
  • Adjustable stops help shops move between one-off parts and short production runs.

Structural and Tube Work

  • Prepares tubing and solid stock used in structural frames, bracing, chassis work, and supports.
  • Its 90-degree cutting capacity handles the larger stock commonly used in industrial fabrication.

Production Cutting

  • Air-operated vises and adjustable stops support consistent material positioning across repeated cuts.
  • Helps keep cut parts moving to welding, machining, fitting, or final assembly.

Industrial Repair and Maintenance

  • Gives maintenance departments a practical way to cut replacement brackets, tubing, supports, and repair stock.
  • Handles straight cuts and mitres on one heavy-duty abrasive saw.
