THOUGHTS BEHIND THE DESIGN

A belt grinder is a piece of equipment that you want working for you for a long time. When designing this 2 x 48 inch belt grinder was designed, we wanted it to be beefy, robust and versatile so it could handle small to medium size grinding jobs our customers threw at it.

DESIGNE PROCESS

When designing the beefy KALAMAZOO BG248 2 X 48 inch belt grinder we had decisions to make. FIRST: A) Use as many stock parts as possible or B) It’s own set of replacement parts. Luckily we were able to use stock parts to that makes parts replacement easy so the customer doesn’t have to wait and typically those replacement parts ship in one to two business day’s. SECOND: Material used to manufacture this piece of equipment. All major components are manufactured out of steel (doesn’t included tracking knob, idler pulley and contact wheel). THIRD: We need to be useable in any size workshop so it was a no brainer use a 1/2HP 1PH 115V motor. Lastly: Belt size was a major thing as well. 2″ x 48″ are fairly common belt size so you can get that size pretty much everywhere.
